A clear route for concerns

Concerns & Complaints

Concerns can be raised directly where that feels possible. Independent professional and data-protection complaint routes are also available.

Raise a concern directly

You are welcome to raise a concern during a session or by emailing info@openmindtherapy.org. Open Mind Therapy aims to respond calmly, fairly and clearly, explain relevant records or terms, and seek a proportionate resolution.

BACP support and formal complaints

If a concern cannot be resolved directly, or you do not feel able to raise it directly, you may use BACP’s Get help with counselling concerns service. Formal complaints about a BACP member are handled under BACP’s Professional Conduct Procedure.

Ricardo Dans is a Registered Member MBACP and registrant on the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, registration number 411264.

Data-protection concerns

A concern about how personal information has been handled may be raised with Open Mind Therapy at info@openmindtherapy.org. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. See the Privacy Notice for details.

Records

Open Mind Therapy keeps proportionate records of complaints and resulting actions where this is necessary for professional, insurance, legal or governance purposes.
