Fees & Cancellation Policy
Fees and cancellation terms are intended to be transparent before therapy begins. This page summarises the current Pricing, Payment and Cancellation Policy v1.8.
Current fees
| Service | Duration | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Introductory call | 15 minutes | £0 |
| Therapy assessment | 90 minutes | £150 |
| Psychotherapy | 50 minutes | £100 |
| Psychotherapy | 90 minutes | £160 |
| Additional clinical collaboration | Outside-session work | +£40 per session |
| Supported-fee psychotherapy | 50 minutes | £80 |
Standard psychotherapy may be online or in person. Supported-fee psychotherapy is limited, online only and subject to availability and suitability.
Additional clinical collaboration
The £40 supplement applies only where agreed administrative or clinical collaboration is required outside the therapy session, for example professional liaison, agreed written clinical output, additional structured monitoring, structured risk review or case-specific consultation. It does not indicate a different standard or quality of in-session therapy.
Bundles and payment
Ongoing therapy is normally prepaid through a five-session bundle at the applicable full session rate or a ten-session bundle with a 10% discount. Five-session bundles are normally intended to be completed within three months and ten-session bundles within six months. These are completion windows, not forfeiture deadlines.
Bank transfer is preferred. For larger advance payments, Open Mind Therapy may issue a secure Tide or Stripe payment link. Payment through Konfidens remains available where needed.
Renewal timing
Continuation and next steps are reviewed before the current bundle ends. For a five-session bundle, the review takes place when three sessions remain. Where therapy is continuing, the next bundle is invoiced according to the agreed renewal timing. If continuation has not been confirmed by the applicable deadline, the remaining sessions begin to focus on ending.
Cancellation and rescheduling
The minimum notice period is 72 hours. A session cancelled with less than 72 hours’ notice is normally charged in full. If Open Mind Therapy fills the appointment with another paying client, or otherwise avoids part or all of the financial loss, the charge is reduced or refunded accordingly.
Where at least 72 hours’ notice is given, an unavoidable change may be moved within the same week where availability permits. If no suitable appointment is available, it may be moved to the end of the bundle. This carry-forward arrangement is normally limited to three sessions per bundle.
Cooling-off rights
Where a first bundle or separately purchased renewal bundle is agreed online, by telephone or otherwise at a distance, a 14-day statutory cancellation period normally applies from the day after the contract is made. If you ask for therapy to begin during that period, Open Mind Therapy will obtain a separate express early-start request. A proportionate charge may apply for services supplied before cancellation where the legal requirements are met.
Ending a bundle and refunds
You may end a bundle at any time. Delivered sessions and valid late-cancellation charges remain payable. After the cooling-off period, any further deduction from an advance payment must reflect a demonstrable direct net loss, taking account of costs saved and reasonable opportunities to reduce the loss. Any remaining balance is refundable unless you choose account credit.
Unused, unbooked value is not forfeited merely because a normal completion window has passed. Refund calculations are explained on request. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
If Open Mind Therapy cancels
If Open Mind Therapy cancels a session, it is not charged and will be rearranged or restored to your account. If Open Mind Therapy cannot provide the remaining service, unused sessions are refunded at the effective bundle rate.
